| | Bryan Griffin -- First Officer | 1966 -- 1982 | I was also known as:- A History of My Time with Qantas:- Many of you would remember me for my small slide rules and calculators. I must have given more away than I sold. One of my triumphs while on the B-707 was to build a 52' yacht in Mauritius. | My Time Since Qantas:- My exodis from Qantas was left a bit of a mystery. It is now apparent that I suffered from depression, complicated by O C D (obsessive compulsive disorder.) I had the compulsion to shut down all four 747 engines on take off. No one understood the illness at the time and Qantas cleared me to keep flying. Eventually I resigned and for twenty years suffered from depression. 18 months ago a leading Sydney author saw my web site www.qantaspilot.com and asked me to write a book on depression in professional people and how you can get cured. "Qantas Jet Star" is now finished and can be bought on ebay or from my website. You can have a preview reading of the book at www.qantasjetstar.com | You Can Contact Me Here: email Bryan -----------------------------------------------------oooooOOOOOoooo----------------------------------------------------- |

| | David Baker -- Captain | 1958 -- 1986 | I was also known as:- A History of My Time with Qantas:- I started firstly with TAA aged 19 yrs, and flew the DC3 firstly in Australia then in New Guinea for some 6 years. I then came back to Australia and proceeded up the ranks in DC4s DC6s Fokker Friendships, DC9,s B727s. Then retired with ill health. I regained my health, and flew overseas with various Airlines, then became employed by QF in the Sim. I stayed there until a serious car accident forced me to retire once more. I would prefer not to go any further after the 1989 debarcle as there is still a lot of pain out there, and somethings are best left unsaid. I am sure you understand. | My Time Since Qantas:- I am involved with the AFAP retirees group of Pilots, am writing a book on the DC3, I proudly have two children flying, and a understanding wife, who does not mind the hanger doors opened with a lot of old mates. We are travelling with our caravan, and our Kelpie and seeing much of Australia as possible, live now on the Beautiful Gold Coast, and would love to hear from some old mates both TAA and QF. Would not have missed any of it for quids!!!! | You Can Contact Me Here: -----------------------------------------------------oooooOOOOOoooo----------------------------------------------------- |
