When I joined Qantas in 1965 there was a height limit of 5feet 10 inches (1.72 m) for cabin crew. This was because the galleys of the 707 F/Cgalley tapered sharply overhead.
As I was 1.82m in height, when it came to the medical measuring I wore baggy trousers and the the induction nurse 'failed' to notice my severely bent knees!
