John Wilshere - Salford City Reds, United Kingdom

As you can see, the Kumuls' can call up players who play in the best competitions in the world such as the NRL, Super League and the Australian state and country divisions such as the Queensland Cup.

The Kumuls' also have some of the biggest stars in the game of Rugby League such as Stanly Gene, John Wilshere and star wingman, Marcus Bai. The problem with having big stars plying trade overseas is that it is very hard for the Kumuls' to call up on their players at certain times of the year due to club commitments, so as you would expect, the Kumuls' are often under stregnthed in many of their Test matches.

After making the World Cup quarter finals for the first time in 2000 and after a successful international year in 2001, the Kumuls' were set for a great international year in 2002 and 2003. But due to financial restrictions to the PNGRFL, the Kumuls' were forced to cancel a tour of New Zealand in 2002 and due to lack of sponsors the planned Asia-Pacific Cup was cancelled and only the Papua New Guinea Presidents XIII have represented the country recently (You can find information on the Presidents' recent results on the PNG News page.

GOOD LUCK THE KUMULS'!
